Free Hugs Friday is an organization working to increase awareness and resources for athlete mental health. Fundraising is done through recreational sporting events and our personal clothing brand. The name comes from Virginia Satir's guideline "we need 4 hugs for survival, 8 for maintenance, and 12 for growth." The name is meant to be taken literally, increasing human connection through clothing and thus promoting the conversation of mental health. This brand was founded by Ella Breving and Caroline Wright; two athletes with plans to pursue their passions in college. Both founders have experienced their own battles with mental health and strive to advocate for young athletes who might be experiencing the same struggles.
